Music
The thriving Music department is dedicated to promoting a learning environment which raises pupils’ self esteem, attainment and encourages personal expression through the development of musical skills.
Music at The Ridgeway School is taught across the entire age range up to and including AS/A level. Music Technology is also taught at AS/A level. All pupils are given the opportunity to experience music through Listening, Composing and Performing. The music curriculum is topic-based in termly modules and attempts to use as wide a variety of stimuli as possible. Pupils have access to a variety of high-quality extra-curricular activities including Choirs, Wind Band, Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble and Music Theatre Group. Pupils have the opportunity in participating in a variety of concerts and music theatre performances.
