RED NOSE DAY…

Many thanks to all those that dressed up and contributed on Red Nose Day this year. On Friday 19th March, The Ridgeway School raised £1318.44. This is such a tremendous amount and we should all be immensely proud to be part of such a great family.

YEAR 11 CROWDCAST…

On Thursday the 18th of March Mrs Harper and Mr Pentelow invited Year 11 parents and students to join them in a live Crowcast event. The event gave details of the Summer GCSEs and how we as a school are responding to the Government’s announcement made in January to cancel GCSE and A Level examinations. The event was well received by parents and students and gave Mr Pentelow and I the opportunity to answer questions from the audience. But don’t worry if you were unable to attend the event as you can watch still watch the recording here - https://www.crowdcast.io/e/year-11-cdg

WORLD BOOK WEEK 2021…

Our annual World Book Week celebrations landed last week with students having the chance to race around the field in their PE lessons as part of the Where’s Wally? Orienteering game, watch 5 members of staff and Head Girl Gabrielle go head to head in the Book Pitching competition, compete in the House Book Domino Challenge, learn about The Power of Sleep by teenage brain guru Nicola Morgan in Science lessons, and test their book knowledge in MFL lessons with the Opening Lines Quiz. Students were welcomed to the Testing Centre by librarians Mrs Day and Mrs Tonkin dressed as their favourite book characters which could well have been the easiest game of Where’s Wally? ever. The Wally-ish behaviour continued over the weekend with some staff running in a stripy fashion for the National Literacy Trust Where’s Wally? fundraiser.

Congratulations to King of the Book Domino Challenge, Year 8 student Furqan who toppled an amazing 93 books! Thank you to Assistant Principal, Mr Cave for presenting the prize and to the House Team for providing it!
