Duke of Edinburgh Awards Jan 2019

This is a great time of year for DofE! We are enjoying the crisp mountain days looking back to the great expeditions of 2018 and forward to the exciting plans for 2019. Students are also getting on with their DofE entries and working hard on their sections – Volunteering, Physical and Skills. We have had great recruitment for 2018-2019, with 70 Year 9 Bronze, 68 Year 10 Bronze, 17 Year 11 Silver and 14 Year 12 Gold.

Can I also remind you that the Bronze Coordinator is Mr Kench and for Silver and Gold Mr Gregory. Please encourage your sons and daughters to go and see them if they need any help with doing their DofE.

A huge congratulations to Maddy Tonkin who has been selected to run for Wiltshire at the UK Intercounties Cross Country Champs at Loughborough in March. A fantastic achievement and we wish her the best of luck.

Thank You

Following the charity football game in memory of T’yanni Tendayi, we received this message from Lydia McGivern, Community Fundraising Officer, Above and Beyond…

Thank you so much for your generous donation of £172.21 to Above & Beyond, in aid of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. Your continuous support in memory of Tyanni will be used to help critically ill young patients from across Bristol and the South West receive the very best possible care.
The support of generous people like you makes a real difference to patients: making the hospitals more comfortable, funding innovative research, supporting and training hospital staff and providing state of the art equipment. A truly amazing gift to give!
We are incredibly grateful to you for your generous support and cannot thank you enough for helping our hospitals.
